Well with the showing that the 2009 camaro had, it’s a good thing that GM is going to build the car, the camaro had had a long life with muscle car fans in this country, and it’s poised to do it all over again, if GM can stay in business, they seem to be having a rough time along with all the other motor companies.

The camaro came out in 1967, to do battle with the Ford mustang, and a battle it was, either car could win with the right person behind the wheel, the right pilot if you will, and then in 1968 Don Yenko, owner of Yenko Chevrolet, in Canonsburg, PA. This brilliant man would create a monster that would give the camaro name a reputation befitting a king.

The sYc or “Super Yenko Camaro” would propel Don Yenko to super star status in the muscle car world, the cars were very expensive, so in turn not a lot of them were ever produced, 1969 turned out to be the magic year for these cars, in 1969 of the Yenko camaro two even meaner camaros would spawn, 1 known as the COPO or “Central Office Production Order” 9560 and the 9561, the only difference between these two cars was the engine, the 9560 “AKA” ZL1 had an all aluminum 427 CID engine rated by the factory at 425 HP, this of course was a serious under rating, the car actually made about 600 HP.

The 9561 was a cast iron block, so you can imagine the difference in performance between the two cars, the power to weight difference was phenomenal, and only the most experienced drivers could even handle one of these monsters, and Chevrolet is poised to do it again with the 2009 camaro, it’s not the exact same idea, but it is a great step toward Chevy getting their muscle car heritage back in order.

The 2009 Camaro runs a 400 HP LS2 6-Liter V8 engine, and sporting the power train from a Corvette, this car will be awesome, also sporting 22″ rear wheels and 21″ front wheels in it’s unrevised form, but the spokesman from Chevrolet says that when the car is released it will have 21″ rear wheels and 20″ front wheels, of course the difference won’t be noticeable to your eye, but it will save some cash for Chevrolet.

This car is a tribute to Chevrolet’s ingenuity and creativity, the one thing that will help to keep them alive in this economy that seems to be horrible for the automotive industry, if anybody can do it Chevrolet can.

Unorthodox Racing Ultra Street Charger series of lightened aluminum pulleys turns the world of underdriving upside down. Ultra Sc crank pulleys are available in a stock diameter or overdrive/underdrive configuration, depending on the application. They are also available in Ultra SSc pulley sets which include the accessories found in Unorthodox Racing standard SS kits. Ultra Rc crank pulleys are a single belt design, only driving the alternator and supercharger (when equipped). No other accessories are driven by this pulley. This makes for an extremely light piece that will provide you with even higher power gains than Unorthodox Racing Ultra Sc crank pulleys.

Ultra Charger pulleys are CNC-machined from lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum billet. Numerous machining steps are used to ensure they are the lightest possible design, even with their larger diameter. It is the reduced rotational mass that still provides excellent ower gains without underdriving.

For the Acura/Honda applications Unorthodox Racing Ultra Sc and SSc pulleys are both an underdrive AND overdrive! Aftermarket supercharger kits (such as the Jackson Racing systems) are driven off the alternator section of the Acura/Honda crank pulley. Unorthodox Racing charger series pulleys act as an overdrive pulley in these applications, providing an increase in boost. Typical boost increases are 2 to 3 psi over a stock supercharger kit for the Acura Integra and Honda Civic Si. It is highly recommended that a high flow fuel pump and a boost dependant ignition system with retard control is installed in these applications.

For the Nissan and VW applications, Unorthodox Racing Ultra Sc and SSc pulleys are stock diameter units. This is done so there is no increase in boost levels, yet power gains are still seen because of the reduced rotational mass. Subaru applications benefit from a slight overdrive, designed to work with many of the aftermarket supercharger kits available for these vehicles. Boost increases of up to 1 psi can be seen in these applications.

Ultra Charger series pulleys are available in a natural polished aluminum finish.

4. Use Low Beam

Don’t use high beam of your headlight till it is absolutely necessary. High beam blurs the vision of other drivers and they may hit you in confusion.

5. Beware of Mobile Phones

Mobile phones have probably become the biggest safety hazard in modern world. People can neither leave them behind nor resist the lure of using when it rings. While driving using a mobile is dangerous. You may escape penalty from traffic policeman but you may not be able to escape putting your and others’ life in danger. To attend a mobile temporarily park your car on a safe side or reply the call later.

6. Indicate other Drivers

Do not take sudden turns or change lanes without using the indicators. It will help other motorists to drive safely and not to hit you. In case the indicators of your car are not working use the signals of your hand.

7. Be a Nice Human Being

Whenever there is any ambulance, fire tender or police car loosen the grip of your feet on the accelerator and let the other vehicle pass safely. Behave like a good and caring citizen on the road.

8. Overtake Cautiously

In case you want to overtake any vehicle indicate with two flickers of your headlight whether it is day or night. If needed indicate flickers again. Overtake when there is enough space to surge ahead or another vehicle allows you. Don’t endanger your or others’ life by rushing forward mindlessly like a movie hero. You are not even a stuntman and required by your family to reach home safely.

9. Keep a Safe Distance

Always drive your car keeping a safe distance from the vehicle running in front of you otherwise a sudden braking from other vehicle may cause collision and instead of the cozy bed at your home you may land up on the bed of a hospital. The more the speed the more distance you have to maintain. The distance will help you to stop your car safely.

10. Don’t Panic if Car Breaks Down

If your car breaks down on the way push it to a safe side of the road. Without hesitation take the help of any passerby if necessary. Leaving the car on the middle of road will obstruct traffic as well as endanger the safety of your car. Now try to get help from a nearby place. Keep phone numbers of some emergency help services in your diary or mobile. Use warning light till the car is repaired.

11. Park Safely

Park in a safe place preferably a guarded one. Be sure window panes are closed. Push the handbrake up. Keep the car engaged in gear. Be sure that you have drawn out the ignition key. Do lock the car before leaving. Use special security lock for extra safety. You will have a cooler mind and a better sleep.
